We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Drupal Developer to fill an initial 12-month contract position. This new role will help lead the technical implementations of our web, online and digital offerings.This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your software development, Drupal experience and best-practice skills across an exciting range of strategic university-wide projects.

About the role

  • A$89K - A$112K plus 9.5% Superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Full time, Fixed term (12 months)
  • Immediate start required

As a key team member within the Central Web Unit your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading back-end and front-end project development in a Drupal 7 environment
  • Reviewing project and technical scoping documents in association with web producers
  • Managing technical aspects of relationships with third party vendors as required
  • Driving the alignment and integration of sites by providing technical advice and assistance to other UNSW developers
  • Fostering Drupal development capabilities and harmonising development practices across the University
  • Continually evaluating new technologies and best use application of technology
  • Contributing to web related strategies, policies and guidelines

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications with minimum 3-4 years web development experience
  • Extensive relevant experience in Drupal development and technical projects
  • Experience developing in: Drupal 7, PHP, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Participated in the Drupal open source community and have a sound understanding of web technologies and the latest developments in the field
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web application security
  • Capacity to manage and deliver on highly complex projects, including the ability to prioritize and work across several projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Proven ability to lead the website development process based on client and institutional strategic goals
