Position overview

The Senior Contracts Officer is located in the Joint Colleges of Science Research Management Team and provides advice on the development, review, execution and management of research contracts and research agreements with external parties. The Senior Contracts Officer is responsible for ensuring research agreements and contracts are negotiated and executed in accordance with University policy, whilst effectively managing potential risk to the University and its intellectual property. This position is expected to work in close consultation with senior managers and executives across the organisation, including college and school research leaders, Legal office, business development and technology transfer staff.

The successful applicants will have a strong customer service focus, ability to prioritise competing deadlines, be experienced administrators with the ability to interpret and provide strategic advice on policy and contractual obligations. Highly developed administrative and excellent organisational skills, together with the ability to exercise initiative and work collaboratively as a member of a team are essential. Experience with contract review and negotiation is essential. Science qualifications, including science communication, will be highly regarded. An interest in science and/or medicine is a must!
