UNSW has embarked on a new 10-year strategy in 2015 which aims to propel UNSW into the world’s top 50 universities by 2025.

The UPO provide strategic project change leadership to support the strategy for UNSW 2025 and major projects across UNSW. This will be underpinned by standardising a common set of project management frameworks, templates, processes, tools and expertise. 

  • $89K - $96K plus 9.5% superannuation and leave loading  

  • 2 year Fixed Term / Full-time

  • Kensington based

Reporting to the Governance & Reporting Lead, The Program Controller is responsible for supporting the UPO define program goals and objectives and maintain visibility of budgets and schedules.   

The successful candidate will analyse progress ensuring consistent and accurate documentation and reporting. 

You will champion best practice in the use of SharePoint and PPM tools.  The starting point will be to develop and manage the 2025 Strategy SharePoint site, enabling it to become a dynamic, intuitive one stop shop for users. 

  • Manage the UPO process for senior Governance forums, including calendars, agendas and distribution of masterlists, action and decisions registers

  • Oversee the Document Management process on SharePoint and network drives assisting in continuous process improvements along the way

  • Educate and advise new UPO team members, project teams and business units on the governance, assurance and project execution framework and its benefits

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date source of information for all projects and programs within the 2025 Strategy Portfolio

  • Ensure integrity of reports & contribute to the review of process to ensure it is flexible, robust and exception based

About You:

You have a thirst for knowledge and an open mindset which lends itself to balancing competing demands & ambiguous priorities. 

  • Blend of Business, Technology & Management knowledge supported by formal qualifications & vocational certification (Business degree & CAPM / CPPP or equivalent)

  • Applied knowledge of project metrics & data manipulation

  • Self-motivated with strong critical reasoning skills and solution focussed

  • Advanced user of SharePoint, Visio, MS Project, Excel
