Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology
The integration of primary care and oral health is a strategic focus for the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), where several initiatives are underway to promote inter-professional training and care delivery. HSDM is recruiting a health economist to contribute to its initiative for the integration of oral health and medicine.
This academic appointment comes with the rank of instructor, assistant professor or associate professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications, in the appropriate academic department based on successful candidate’s area of expertise. The successful candidate will have a dual reporting relationship to the Executive Director of the Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine (IIOHM)/Assistant Dean for Global and Community Health as well as his/her academic Department Chair.
This individual will be responsible for conducting simulation economic models for various clinical scenarios and payment systems, assisting with ongoing studies, develop an independent research portfolio, and contribute to the predoctoral and/or postdoctoral teaching including health policy and statistics.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Economics/Health Economics and a teaching portfolio which includes instruction in economics and statistics.
A DMD or MD is a plus. Experience in an academic or state/federal policy setting is desirable.
