IT Services invites applications for two full-time IT Service Desk Assistants. As part of the Service Desk team you will be required to provide first line IT support identifying and solving problems and providing guidance to staff and students in the use of University PC systems and online services.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to communicate clearly in face-to-face interactions, by telephone and in email and other written documents are essential. An aptitude for learning new skills and the willingness to work as part of a team are fundamental to the role. Experience of working in a customer facing role would be an advantage, as would use of an electronic Helpdesk System.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of desktop software, operating systems and hardware in common use. You will have A-level qualifications in relevant subjects and NVQ3/HNC qualifications, or equivalent and relevant work experience. The successful candidate will be expected to work fixed hours normally 9.00 to 5.00 but may on occasion be required 8.00am to 4pm. The post is being offered on a fixed term basis until 30 April 2018.
