Senior Finance Officer
Classification: ANU Officer Grade 6/7 (Administration)
Salary package: $75,608 – $87,570 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

The twenty strong Finance Team supports the financial management of the Colleges of Science. We work with some of Australia's (and the world's) leading researchers. The Senior Finance Officer works closely with researchers to assist them with the management of their grants (from application through to final reporting). We support our staff with a strong professional development program. CPA membership or progress towards completing the CPA program (or equivalent) is required.

The Senior Finance Officer assists the Assistant Finance Manager with operational planning, broad financial support and providing strategic financial advice to Research Schools and Centres within the two Colleges, as well as ensuring timely and accurate preparation, analysis and distribution of financial reports to internal and external clients. The Senior Finance Officer will be working as part of a small team located in one of the four College Administration hubs. The activities will include grant management, budget support and training. Familiarity with ESP (or a similar system) is essential as is the use of Excel for presentation and analysis of data. You will possess strong analytical and numerical skills, have good oral and written communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
We are looking for an individual with demonstrated experience and an understanding of budgetary processes and financial administration, including knowledge of grant management, purchasing, invoicing, receipting, general ledger and financial reports.
