The School of Education faculty is comprised of educator-scholars whose expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations. The Counseling and Career Development program offers three tracks fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP): Career Counseling, School Counseling, and College Counseling (currently being phased out). The CCD program offers a rich history of excellence in counselor education with a strong reputation for quality teaching. The School of Education is interested in applicants who are deeply committed to counselor training and producing graduates who will impact the field.

To coordinate and supervise the field experiences (practicum and internship) for the students in the Counseling and Career Development Program. Additional responsibilities include teaching two field experience courses (practicum and/or internship) each year.

Required Job Qualifications

•An earned master’s degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, or related degree.

•Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed School Counselor in Colorado or licensure eligible.

•Two years of clinical, career, or school counseling experience.

•Experience with graduate teaching and clinical supervision.

•Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with multiple educational and counseling agencies.

•Demonstrated professional commitment to working with diverse populations.

Preferred Job Qualifications

•Expertise in guiding and supervising graduate students

•Experience with client record management systems and other related technologies

•Demonstrated excellence in teaching courses related to counseling field experiences (practicum and/or internship)

•Evidence of strong organizational skills

Job Duty Category Practicum coordination Duty/Responsibility

•Update and maintain practicum learning management system including the practicum manual, syllabus, evaluation materials, and learning outcomes rubrics.
•Manage all aspects of client and supervision electronic documentation systems, including training on systems.
•Manage/perform client recruitment and screen procedures including assigning clients to practicum students. Contact potential clients for a wait list for services if necessary.
•Order supplies for the practicum labs and work with students and supervisors to maintain the counseling facilities.
•Assist with counseling and research-related recordkeeping for practicum students and faculty.
•Work with the CCD program chair and SOE and CSU staff to keep the laboratory recording equipment functioning and as updated as possible.
•Other practicum coordination duties as assigned.

Percentage Of Time 37.5 Job Duty Category Internship Coordination Duty/Responsibility

•Update and maintain CCD Internship learning management system, including internship manual, forms, resources, electronic logs, and outcomes rubrics.
•Assist students with the process of identifying potential internship sites and securing an internship. This includes communicating and directing students to information and resources regarding internship and internship site procurement policies, procedures, and required forms.
•Schedule and conduct one to two internship orientation meetings each academic year.
•Collaborate with CCD faculty and students to confirm that internship sites and site supervisors meet CACREP and CCD criteria.
•Facilitate the development of potential internship sites.
•Partner with current internship sites and site supervisors, as appropriate, in the development of their counselor-in-training programs.
•Facilitate communication between internship section instructors and CCD faculty to ensure effective, efficient, and consistent internship policies and procedures.
•Support site supervisors in securing graduate credits and honorariums.
•Work with CCD faculty to develop and deliver professional development materials for site supervisors regarding supervision.
•Other internship coordination duties as assigned.
