Position Description

Harvard Divinity School is looking to hire a lecturer/instructor (title dependent on qualifications) to teach one course in Elementary Coptic in the fall of 2017. The candidate is expected to teach master’s and doctoral students in an introductory course on the Coptic language. The course covers basic Sahidic Coptic grammar and syntax, with selected readings from the Coptic Bible and other early texts.

Basic Qualifications

Advanced degree in Religious Studies and/or Coptic (Masters or doctoral degree) is required. Appointment title dependent on academic qualifications.

Additional Qualifications

Previous experience teaching Coptic at the graduate level strongly desired.
