Job overview

The Faculty of Business and Law has engagement with the business community at its heart. There is a long history of engagement at a variety of levels within the Faculty. A new external engagement centre within the Faculty of Business and Law will be launched in September 2017. The aim of the centre is to increase commercial activity and to ensure that commercial projects undertaken link into the Faculty's learning, teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities.

The Associate Directors (External Engagement) hold key roles within the new external engagement centre. They will be responsible for business development and leading teams of people to deliver commercial income projects; they will also be personally involved in the delivery of commercial projects.

Increasing the financial contribution made by the Faculty's commercial activity and linking this activity to teaching, learning and research is at the core of the role.

The post holder will undertake commercial-facing work for 0.8 of their time; the other 0.2 will be linked to teaching/research/knowledge exchange within one of the Faculty departments.
