The School of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the largest and most prestigious computing schools in Australia. It offers undergraduate programs in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Bioinformatics, as well as a number of combined degrees with other disciplines. About the role
The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking an exceptional Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor of international standing to conduct research and teaching in cyber security. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: software security analysis, software bug detection, automated static and dynamic program analysis, compiler techniques for generating provably safe and secure code against cyber-attacks, cyber-physical systems, security of embedded systems, applied cryptography, security of Wireless Networks. Skills required include but are not limited to: demonstrated experience in developing publicly available open-source or commercial tools and software.
Two positions are available. The appointments would be:
- at level B ($101k - $119K per annum), level C ($123k - $141k per annum), level D ($147k - $162k per annum) or level E ($188k per annum), plus 17% superannuation and leave loading, commensurate with academic qualifications and experience,
- full time,
- to a Convertible Tenure Track Employment Contract for an initial fixed term period of 5 years, with conversion to continuing appointment based on satisfactory performance and there being sufficient productive work available.
The Faculty reserves the right to offer an appointment on a continuing basis or to directly appoint to advertised positions.
We are looking for two exceptional candidates to conduct high impact research in the area of cyber security, deliver outstanding teaching and student experience in the discipline of Computer Science and Engineering, build industry engagement and contribute significantly to the leadership, service and engagement missions of the School and Faculty.
As a successful candidate, you will have:
- A PhD in cyber security, computer science and engineering or a related field;
- A demonstrated record of excellence in research with international impact;
- A commitment to delivering high quality and innovative teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels; and,
- The ability to actively engage with industry and the community.
