About the role
We are recruiting for an exceptional candidate into the Faculty of Engineering research priority area of Process Engineering – Environmental Technology. The Schools are seeking candidates with focus on environmental applications for resource recovery in water, wastewater and waste management. These areas have been identified complementary to the research strengths within the two Schools and where extensive cross-school collaborations already exist via the UNESCO Centre for Membrane Science and Technology and Water Research Centre. Environmental technology provides teaching opportunities across both Schools to undergraduates and postgraduate students.
The role will conduct high impact research in the area of Process Engineering – Environmental Technology, deliver outstanding teaching and student experience with contributions across both Schools, build industry engagement and contribute significantly to the leadership, service and engagement missions of the Schools and Faculty.
A senior appointment would be expected to have an international profile and reputation in their relevant discipline and to provide leadership, strategy and direction to innovative world-class research teams at UNSW.
The appointment would be:
- at level B ($101k - $119K per annum), level C ($123k - $141k per annum) or level D ($147k - $162k per annum) or level E ($188k per annum), plus 17% superannuation and leave loading, commensurate with academic qualifications and experience,
- full time,
- to a Convertible Tenure Track Employment Contract for an initial fixed term period of 5 years, with conversion to continuing appointment based on satisfactory performance and there being sufficient productive work available.
The Faculty reserves the right to offer an appointment on a continuing basis or to directly appoint to advertised positions.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has:
- A PhD in a relevant field
- Proven track record in research and attracting research funding
- A commitment to delivering high quality and innovative teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels
Candidates who are able to contribute to teaching and program development broadly across the disciplines of both Schools would be highly regarded.
