The Strategy and Governance Portfolio provides strong integrated support for strategic development, governance, and business planning for the University. The Strategy and Governance Portfolio incorporates the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Office of Strategy & Governance, the Policy and Impact Team, University Secretary, the Strategy and Analytics Group, the Enterprise Project Management Office, Internal Audit & Risk Management and the Compliance, Regulation and Reporting Group.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Executive Officer will provide essential support to the Ombuds through correspondence and document management, research, liaison with internal and external contacts, and report writing. The Executive Officer will ensure that: the Ombuds' office is managed in line with current priorities and strategic objectives; that briefings and reports notes are relevant and of a high quality; and that actions arising from correspondence and meetings are completed in a timely and appropriate manner.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have proven experience in providing executive level support, in addition to research skills, including excellent analytical and research skills. You will preferably have experience with the complaints/governance processes with an ability to work independently to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to achieve deadlines. Furthermore, your demonstrated written, verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills will be essential to your success in this role.

Hours of work are negotiable and the position may, from time to time, require working outside of scheduled hours in order to achieve tasks within a given timeframe.
