The Library comprises three principal Library sites at Swanston Street, Bundoora and Carlton, as well as a library service at Bundoora East and at the Brunswick Campus. This role is based at the city campus.

The Role

The Library is seeking an innovative, collaborative and service oriented liaison librarian to join the Business Liaison Team. The Liaison Librarian will support the learning, teaching and research pursuits of designated Schools and associated Research Centres and Institutes.

Liaison Librarians at RMIT are expected to build strong relationships with academic and other professional staff and establish collaborative partnerships across the University. The position liaises with nominated Schools to manage the development and delivery of information literacy and research support and develop and maintain high quality digital and print collections, and contributes to the strategic development of information services across the Library

The position also provides face-to-face and virtual expert consultation services.

Skills & Experience Required

We are seeking energetic applicants with demonstrated extensive experience in liaising with customer client groups, preferably in an academic library. The candidate should demonstrate experience in the design and delivery of advanced information literacy and research support programs and have excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. There is a strong focus on professional collaboration within the College team and across the three liaison teams.

The applicant will have a mandatory Degree in Library and Information Services or equivalent and eligibility for professional membership of ALIA is required. It is considered desirable for candidates to have a postgraduate qualification in tertiary teaching and learning or equivalent.

Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
