The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources. The Student Wellbeing and Commercial Services Group leads the provision of services to support the welfare and wellbeing of students. The Group works proactively to remove barriers and provide support to students who may be at risk of not being able to access or successfully complete their tertiary study.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Advisor - Diversity and Inclusion will support the University's Access and Equity projects, including the Diversity and Inclusion Framework and related Action Plans by designing and delivering a number of projects and initiatives, engaging collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. This role will have a focus on implementing the University's Action Plans for students and staff of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities, and for cultural inclusion. This role works with a small and enthusiastic team in the Equity and Diversity Unit and liaise with RMIT colleagues in Student Wellbeing and Commercial Services, Human Resources, academic colleges, and the Ngarara Willim Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students and external partners.

Skills & Experience Required

You will support the University's Access and Equity projects, including the Diversity and Inclusion Framework and related Action Plans, by designing and delivering a range of equity and inclusion projects and initiatives, engaging collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will coordinate diversity and inclusion projects, delivering agreed outputs within agreed timelines and by efficient and effective management of resources. Important to this role will be your ability to design and deliver information sessions and training and other written or multimedia resources on a range of diversity and inclusion issues. Key to your success will be your capacity to think and work innovatively, effectively and flexibly in a fluid multi-disciplinary team environment and demonstrate strong administration and computer literacy skills

This role will require satisfactory confirmation of a Working with Children Check.
