Salary: £33,943 rising annually to £37,075

At Oxford Brookes University, The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has a long-standing reputation for the quality of its teaching and research, with a warm and supportive environment. We’re now investing in key areas of health research excellence, including nursing, translational heath, patient safety and patient outcomes. Which is why we’re inviting exceptional candidates to apply for our inaugural Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellowship. It’s a fantastic opportunity to take the first steps on an independent academic career, and be part of high-profile medical research that offers great potential for publication.

As a Research Fellow, it’ll be your role to establish and build an independent research programme with an international reputation. As part of this, you’ll ensure projects achieve their objectives and form and develop collaborations with existing and external researchers that will enable you to generate multi and interdisciplinary research outputs, writing for international journals and other quality publications.

We’re looking for people to join the Oxford Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Research, specialising in health related research, including:

  • Nursing
  • Translational health
  • Patient safety
  • Patient outcomes

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a PhD, and a substantial period of postdoctoral (or equivalent) research experience. It’s also a fantastic chance to build and develop your already strong publications track record. In fact, you’ll come to us with a history of writing articles in high-quality peer reviewed journals, and the ability to enhance the research culture of both the department and faculty. Responsible for managing major projects and teams, you’ll also have mentored or supervised junior research staff or students.
