As an integral part of the Faculty of Arts and Education leadership team, the Associate Dean, Research will work closely with the Executive Dean and a range of stakeholders within the Faculty and across the University, to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the Faculty and the University with a focus on the research agenda.

The Associate Dean will represent and promote the Faculty both within and outside the University and contribute to university-level research planning via governance committees, forums and working parties. The role assumes responsibility, at the Faculty level, for the strategic leadership and development of the Faculty research agenda. The Associate Dean, Research will influence and lead academic and professional staff from a range of disciplines to support initiatives, raise the research performance of the Faculty and to engage in effective and cooperative working relationships.

The Faculty of Arts and Education is comprised of seven Schools and one Centre. It includes the School of Information Studies, School of Indigenous Australian Studies, School of Education, School of Teacher Education, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Communication and Creative Industries, School of Theology and the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation.

To be successful in this role you will be an outstanding strategic leader and manager with demonstrated expertise in research leadership. You will bring creative and innovative strategies and solutions in research to the Faculty. Your excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills ensure you foster relationships within the Schools, Faculty, University and beyond.
