Post-Doctoral position in Decision-Making and Managerial Behavior

The Department of Economics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) invites applications for a two-years Post-Doctoral position to join its research group “Decision-Making and Managerial Behavior”. Fields of interest:

  •  Consumer Behavior
  • Decision Making
  • Farmers’ Managerial Behavior
  • Food Choices

 Within the research group “Decision-Making and Managerial Behavior” we study how strategic decision-making impacts on the biological natural resources, and moreover the economic consequences of these decisions. The topics of interest add to the literature in behavioral economics.

SLU is a world-class university in the fields of life and environmental sciences, with a strong commitment to excellence in research. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Economics and Business. Within this framework, the Department of Economics provides an important platform for research and graduate education in Economics and Business, as it encompasses the Masters and the Doctoral programme in Economics and Business, which are entirely taught in English.


Successful applicants will be expected to (1) actively contribute to the group’s research in this field; (2) develop independent research leading to high quality scientific journals’ publications, and (3) eventually apply for external research funding. You may also be expected to supervise students’ theses at all levels, within the research area of the group.


The successful applicant should have a background in behavioral economics, behavioral agricultural economics, behavioral decision making or closely related field.

We are looking for a person who is highly motivated and who can work both independently and in teams, is used to taking own initiatives, and has documented experience in independent scientific work. Very good skills in English (both written and oral) are required. Personal characteristics will play a significant role in the recruitment process.


Individuals with a completed Ph.D. (the Ph.D. should have been completed no more than three years ago) are encouraged to apply for this position.
