Applications are invited for full time Lecturers at the School of Business in Management Information Systems. You will be joining a faculty of research led educators in our Business School. Our student body and faculty have grown significantly in the last three years, supported by a portfolio of 9 undergraduate degrees and a suite of postgraduate programmes and a PhD programme. Our new  lecturers will play an active role in research led education, research and service and the next phases of growth and development in all disciplines of the school.

Our faculty focus on research that is impactful within their academic community, their students, and their industry contexts. We have published in a wide range of leading international journals, including 12 ABS 4 ranked journals since 2013. Our MIS faculty have published in a wide range of journals including amongst others: Information Systems Journal; Journal of Strategic Information Systems; Journal of Information Technology; European Journal of Information Systems. Faculty have also published in journals such as Journal of Management, Research Policy, Human Resource Management – both US and UK, Accounting Organisations and Society, Human Relations, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Academy of Management Education and Learning, Journal of International Business Studies, Organisation Studies, Organisational Research Methods, Long Range Planning, Work Employment and Society, Supply Chain Management An International Review, the European Marketing Journal, Journal of Advertising, amongst others.

Our portfolio of degrees is a blend of single honours undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, double majors combining Business with other departments from the Faculty of Social Science, and a PhD programmes. We have a single honours degrees in Management, Marketing, International Business and Equine Business, and three business options on our Arts degree (Management, Marketing and International Business), that can be combined with over 20 other subjects (e.g. languages, computer science, anthropology amongst others). Our new MIS Lecturers will teach on these undergraduate programmes as well as playing a role in teaching and development of our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, which includes our MSc in IT Enabled Innovation.

The successful candidate will have a research record and pipeline in Management Information Systems. You will have capability as a research led educator and ability to contribute to the development of Management programmes and research, individually, and within a team.

Lecturer (Post 1995*): €50,808 – €76,936 p.a. (7 points)
Assistant Lecturer (2013): €31,820 – €56,603p.a. (14 points)
There are two contracts on offer. One is a full time permanent role, and the other a fixed term contract. Successful candidates will be offered either of these contracts depending upon their experience and qualifications.

Appointment to Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer will depend on experience and qualifications of candidates. Those that have not completed a PhD will be placed on the Assistant Lecturer rate. Those that have not demonstrated significant research outputs (2 ABS 3 papers or more) will be appointed on a tenure track contract of five years. Attainment of tenure benchmarks will result in contract being converted to permanency.

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.
*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the Lecturer (Post 1995) pay scale.
