Assistant Director - College of Engineering Undergraduate Programs and Records

The primary purpose of this position is to plan and implement recruitment, conversion and freshman retention programs sponsored by the ENG Undergraduate Programs Office. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Undergraduate Programs and provides oversight of the freshmen counseling program, Spring Open Houses, Summer Orientation, and Freshman Advising Seminar.
This position is responsible for on-campus recruitment to convert a capable freshman class, to enrich the freshman experience to make it rewarding, and to ensure that the freshman counseling services provided are appropriate and helpful to enhance the freshman academic experience.
The Assistant Director is also responsible for the supervision of two Academic Counselors who assist with freshman programming.
Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred. Three to five years of related experience.
This position is critical to our recruitment, conversion and retention programs. This position requires an experienced, energetic professional who is willing to work many evenings and weekends, is sensitive to issues of confidentiality, and has excellent communication and counseling skills.

• Knowledge of computer programs: word processing, spreadsheet, database, web
