The Work and Organisational Psychology Group hosts three main clusters – HRM, Work Psychology/OB and Social Responsibility and Sustainability - conducting research in various aspects of human and organisational performance. There is a thriving research culture in the Group, which has a strong reputation for being rigorous and relevant. Members of the Group have impressive publication records and are involved in the editing of leading journals, including British Journal of Management, Human Resource Management and Journal of Applied Social Psychology. We support participation in international conferences and supervision of PhDs via the Dean’s scholarships, and actively support business engagement/Executive Education opportunities.

We are seeking three inspirational and highly motivated individuals to contribute to the development of the Group’s research, teaching, PhD/DBA supervision, and enterprise activities. We welcome discussions with prospective candidates with interests in any area of HRM, OB, and Work/Organisational Psychology. We are particularly interested in individuals who can lead and develop a research centre for human resource performance and a behavioural insights research centre. We are willing to invest in order to build these centres. We anticipate opportunities to work closely on these themes with colleagues in our other Groups, including Law, Marketing and Strategy, and Operations and Information Management. We are keen to discuss new ideas in order to strengthen our research profile and complement our teaching and business support provision.

Applicants should have an excellent reputation with a strong international profile and network in their subject area, manifested in leading HRM/OB/Work and Organisation-related journal publications. They must have significant experience in securing substantial funding from different sources, leading externally funded research projects, mentoring junior faculty and undertaking effectively doctoral/postdoctoral research supervision.

Further, they should demonstrate a passion for their subject and be able to communicate that passion effectively to the academic, business and policy-making communities. They should be at least Fellows of HEA (or equivalent). Chartered membership of CIPD/BPS and possession of entrepreneurial skills are highly desirable.
