Senior Lecturer, Medical Education  

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is a partnership between two of the world’s premier institutions of higher education, Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The medical school, established at NTU in Singapore, offers a five-year MBBS degree jointly awarded by both institutions. The School welcomed its first cohort of medical students in August 2013 and there are ambitious plans for growth.

LKCMedicine has an exciting medical curriculum where the main learning experience will be based on Team-Based Learning in an integrated learning environment. Initial content for these courses were developed jointly between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University.

The School now seeks applications for appointment at Senior Lecturer level. Reporting to the Vice Dean, Education, the appointee will be based full-time in Singapore, and will take responsibility for key elements of the MBBS programme.

Responsibilities

The new faculty will be expected to take on the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of LKCMedicine faculty training programme in Team-Based Learning (TBL) and oversee its implementation
  • Lead the team of TBL facilitators who are responsible for running the TBL sessions, as well as personally facilitate some sessions
  • Review student and faculty feedback on TBL and recommend improvements
  • Contribute and undertake research in TBL and faculty
  • Secure grants for educational research
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research activities
  • Dissemination of research and scholarship at conferences and in peer reviewed journals
  • Take on the role of House Tutor
  • Participate in outreach activities and educational committees

Requirements

  • Masters/PhD in Education 
  • Strong track record in teaching excellence and high quality research
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
