Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operational activities of the Collections & Discovery team, processes and workflows to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
  • Ensures strategic and annual operational plans and projects are delivered on target and to date.
  • Works with the Head of Academic Engagement & Collections to plan and manage resources’ budgets.
  • Responsible for staff management processes and team development, fosters strong team values.
  • Fosters excellent cross-team collaboration and enables team to engage with academic community to provide appropriate library services.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of all Library management and technology systems, including liaison with suppliers re performance issues.
  • Provides guidance (using Collection Development Policy and Reading List Strategy) in selection, de-selection and assessment of Library collections and users’ needs.
  • Ensures services support the needs of collaborative partnership arrangements.
  • Monitors and evaluates services.
  • Deputises for the Head of Academic Engagement & Collections in their absence.
