The School of Systems, Management and Leadership is seeking both a Lecturer and a Senior Lecturer in the discipline of Information Systems to contribute to, and advance the research profile of the School and the Faculty

Detailed Description
The School of Systems, Management and Leadership focuses on the development of skills and methods to use technology to build systems that deliver value to enterprises.

The focus of the School’s teaching and research is on the innovative application of technology to improve the way enterprises work. It aims to develop the design skills, leadership and processes needed to implement, manage and develop information systems and engineering systems economically and effectively.

Main responsibilities of the Lecturer role are to:

  • Engage in teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses meeting high-quality standards
  • Contribute to the PhD program within the Information Systems discipline
  • Participate in course and subject development and engage in the development and presentation of leading edge teaching material
  • Engage in collaborative research endeavours leading to quality outputs and apply for competitive research grants

Main responsibilities of the Senior Lecturer role are to:

  • Undertake research resulting in publications in top international journals
  • Apply for competitive research grants
  • Foster the PhD program within the Information Systems discipline
  • Engage in teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses meeting high-quality standards
  • Actively contribute to course and subject development of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects
  • Demonstrate leadership in the development and presentation of leading edge teaching material

To be successful in either of these roles, candidates will demonstrate the following skills :

  • A continuing and demonstrable commitment to high quality and impactful research and teaching in information systems and related disciplines
  • Experience in effectively teaching and coordinating information systems courses and subjects at the undergraduate level, postgraduate level
  • Have substantial knowledge of information systems analysis, information systems development methodologies, design science, complex systems modelling
  • Have expertise in one or more of the following areas: energy management, disaster management, supply chain management and environmental modelling
  • A PhD degree in a relevant discipline

Base Salary Range:

Lecturer (Level B): $99,924 - $114,343

Senior Lecturer (level C): $121,469 - $135,725

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This appointment will be on a continuing full time basis.
