Dean in Engagement
The Griffith Business School (GBS) is a premier provider in business education and research in Australia and the Asia region. It has 10,000 students enrolled on its programs and employs 275 academics, many of whom are global leaders in their fields. The School's reputation is built on the outstanding scholarship and teaching of its staff, its producing high quality graduates and a strong alumni base. It offers a complete range of business degree programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and research levels, including an MBA (currently ranked 4th in Australia in the Australian Financial Review rankings).
This is a fixed term (5 year), full time position based at the Nathan or Gold Coast campus, however the successful applicant will be required to work on other campuses of the University and other locations to facilitate engagement with the various communities GBS serves. In addition, the successful candidate may be offered a continuing position at the level of Associate Professor / Professor within the Griffith Business School.
The Dean (Engagement) will drive GBS's engagement with external stakeholders and provide leadership of engagement activity within and across the GBS. The role will develop coordinated approaches and strategies to implement GBS and University engagement plans and achieve GBS targets. The role will also be responsible for building internal and external alliances and strategic partnerships and for ensuring that the range of GBS engagement activities are effectively communicated to key stakeholders.
In addition, the role will be responsible for, and have strategic oversight of, engagement with industry, government and the public sector as well as the community and third sector and schools and other organisations providing pathways for students onto GBS programs. The position will be responsible for alumni and development activities and for engagement at the international level. The role will also be responsible for generating relationships that result in new funding and revenue opportunities and for ensuring the School's engagement activities include a continued commitment to building on and leveraging the support of our alumni.
The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in the international higher education sector, government or commerce, with an understanding of the university sector, both nationally and globally. You will have a track record of excellence in your field and recognised as an accomplished leader who is committed to enhancing and inspiring high performance. To be successful in this role you will have strong strategic capability as well as the ability to engage and build relationship at senior levels across diverse stakeholder groups.
