The UQ Graduate School is one of Australia's largest postgraduate research training centres and offers students a superior study and research environment. The Graduate School focuses on enriching the quality of academic life for postgraduate research students; producing excellent educational and employment outcomes; maintaining and building on UQ's high standards of supervision and offering excellent practical research training to prepare students for a variety of careers. Staff within the Graduate School provide additional support across all aspects of the University's research higher degree training portfolio.
The HDR Careers and Employability Adviser will support and cultivate career development learning activities and resources within a framework designed to enhance the employability of UQ's HDR candidates.
Reporting to the UQ Graduate School's Engagement and Development Manager, the position will provide career development learning advice, support and consultation to HDR Candidates, university staff and organisations. This role will also be responsible for establishing links to relevant stakeholders, services and UQ units, to enhance HDR Candidates' employment prospects. The position will facilitating engagement and connection of stakeholders, including HDR candidates, alumni, employers, university staff, in order to enhance candidate's employability prospects, skills and outcomes
Applicants should possess a degree with at least four years subsequent experience, with professional qualifications in a relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.You should also have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, the ability to present ideas persuasively in complex discussions, tact and discretion and a willingness to work collaboratively.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment (12 months) at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,884 - $89,559 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $89,663 - $104,784 p.a.).
