At UWS, we aim to change lives, transform communities and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education. We actively engage with our students and staff and collaborate with our partners and stakeholders to make sure that all can “Dream, Believe and Achieve”.
We are looking for an energetic, ambitious and focused individual to build, develop and lead the newly established Education Futures. This is a new role and as such the post holder will shape the structure required to bring about the strategic aims and vision for Education Futures. You will work closely with the Associate Vice-Principal (Education), the Head of the Quality Enhancement Team and the Head of UWS Academy to develop an outstanding forward-looking professional delivery that places Student Success, Research and Enterprise and Global Engagement at the heart of what we do.

The Head of Education Futures will create a dynamic environment leading the strategic approach and implementation of technology-enhanced learning and use of learning spaces and environment across all UWS campuses.  You will play a significant role in working with colleagues across the University to deliver a vision of innovating and using technology to its full potential, bringing examples of new and different approaches from national and international settings to ensure that UWS is sector leading. A further aspect of the role is the development and implementation of an internal secondment scheme offering opportunities for academic and professional staff to focus on a specific academic development project or initiative.
You will have extensive experience of successfully leading and managing technology enhanced learning and significant experience of working with academic colleagues on using and integrating digital technologies into teaching and learning. As a leading member of staff you will have the energy and enthusiasm to build a team and service that is ‘cutting edge’ and provides strategic input to the ongoing and future requirements for learning technology provision to ensure that it supports a research-influenced, scholarly-driven and technology-enhanced approach to student learning and assessment.

You will have a relevant doctoral degree and be recognised as an expert in higher education pedagogy/learning and teaching at a national or international level. You will have demonstrable success in change initiatives and demonstrating impact is essential and have a track record of being an inspiring leader who can achieve strategic outcomes. Key to your success will be effective skills in communication, influencing, negotiating and networking.
