The School of Modern Languages at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Spanish and/or Latin American Film or Visual Culture from 1 September 2017. Applications are accepted from scholars with expertise in any field of Spanish and/or Latin American Film or Visual Culture. The appointment will be made at Lecturer b level (Grade J).

The successful candidate will be an expert in the field of Spanish and/or Latin American Film or Visual Culture. In addition to delivering undergraduate teaching in this area to students across the School of Modern Languages and collaborating with existing staff in Film or Visual Culture to teach School and cross-departmental units on Film or Visual Culture, s/he will be a member of the Department of Hispanic, Latin American and Portuguese Studies and will design and teach units for the Department and will relish working collaboratively on cross-Faculty initiatives in Film or Visual Culture.

Salary: Starting salary £36,001- £40,523 per annum.

Timescale of appointment:

Long-listed candidates will be notified on or about 12th May 2017 and will be invited to submit for consideration two pieces of written/published work to be submitted by 19th May 2017.

Short-listed candidates will be notified on or about 30th May 2017 and invited to interview. They may be invited to give a presentation as part of the selection process.
