Macquarie University stands at the forefront of change and innovation. The recently founded Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub epitomises this, combining collaboration, research excellence and deep engagement with industry.
The University seeks a Scientific Director who will play a key role in defining the strategy for the Hub and bringing together academics and industry experts. While the Hub has made its home within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and has the full support of the Department of Computing, it is truly interdisciplinary, drawing on academics from Business and Economics, Security Studies and Criminology, as well Science and Computing.
The successful candidate will have a track record of high calibre thought leadership and academic research in cyber security, of building strong relationships across disciplines and of working closely with business and government. She or he will be an excellent communicator, capable of working with people in different disciplines and of conveying complex concepts in a manner that is relevant for non-academics.
The University has engaged Odgers Berndtson to assist in the recruitment process. For a confidential discussion about the role and the University's expectations, please contact Ms Jane Harlen by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 61 2 8905 3705.
