The School of Modern Languages at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in French or Francophone Theatre and Performance from 1 September 2017. Applications are accepted from scholars with expertise in any field of French or Francophone Theatre and Performance studies. The appointment will be made at Lecturer b level (Grade J).

The successful candidate will be an expert in the field of French or Francophone Theatre and Performance. In addition to delivering undergraduate teaching in this area to students across the School of Modern Languages and collaborating with existing staff in theatre and performance to teach School and cross-departmental units on theatre and performance, s/he will be a member of the Department of French, will design and teach units for the Department and will relish working collaboratively on cross-Faculty initiatives in theatre and performance.

Salary: Starting salary £36,001- £40,523 per annum

Timescale of appointment:

Long-listed candidates will be notified on or about 15th May 2017 and will be invited to submit for consideration two pieces of written/published work which will be required no later than 18th May 2017.

Short-listed candidates will be notified on or about 23rd May 2017 and invited to interview. They may be invited to give a presentation as part of the selection process.
