We are seeking to appoint an individual with expertise in African history of the nineteenth and/or twentieth centuries. Although the post is not limited in terms of themes or geography, candidates with interests in transnational or global approaches to History, and whose research will contribute to any of the following Faculty-led research themes, are strongly encouraged to apply: Medical Humanities and Social Sciences; Cities; Security and Conflict; Slavery and Unfree Labour; Heritage; Children and Childhood; Digital Humanities.

You should have a PhD in History or a relevant discipline, and a strong publication record.  You will also be expected to have well developed plans for future research projects and publications.  Experience of teaching in Higher Education at undergraduate level is essential; experience of course design and of teaching at postgraduate level are desirable.
