We are seeking for enthusiastic academics at the start of their career to join our department and contribute in high quality teaching and research.

As part of our on-going development strategy, the University Of Greenwich Faculty Of Business is seeking a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Business Operations Management. Appointments are expected to be at Lecturer level, with Senior Lectureship appointment considered for outstanding candidates.

The Business Faculty, based in the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich – a UNESCO World Heritage site – has a strong commitment to diversity and internationalism and this is reflected in our staff and student profiles. You will be joining Systems Management & Strategy, a Department with excellent results in the NSS, internationally recognised research and teaching in Strategy, Business Planning and Development, Decision Making in Business as well as strong specialisation in Transport and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Ecosystem, Sustainability and Innovation studies. The Department runs a number of successful postgraduate programmes including an Executive MBA, Masters programmes with specialisations in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Transport Systems Management, as well as a variety of undergraduate programmes in general Business, Purchasing and SCM, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and others. The Faculty improved its latest REF performance significantly and the Department was a major contributor. There are strong research teams within the department specialisations which provide research that is of significance to businesses, the society, and the general environment and economy.

The advertised role is for a highly effective person who will be involved in internationally recognised research and teaching in a variety of business topics. Detailed knowledge of at least one of, business operations strategy, business development and management, sustainability in business, business ecosystems, innovation in business environments, will be considered an asset. The position offers opportunities for research and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and enables an ambitious candidate to play an important role in the shaping of the future development of the department’s approach to its curriculum design. Applicants need to be confident in developing inspiring course materials and learning activities within a blended learning environment and providing excellent student care. We are especially interested in hearing from candidates who have creative experience of using virtual learning environments to support off-campus learning (e.g. Moodle) and learning simulations. The potential to contribute to our research areas as well as a professional business outreach would be of particular interest.
