Maynooth University (National University of Ireland, Maynooth) is the fastest growing university in Ireland with over 10,000 students and outstanding research and scholarship in the sciences, humanities and social sciences. The university is now entering a new and exciting phase of its development, with a new strategic plan centred on further enhancing our academic programmes, providing a distinctive student experience of the highest quality, focusing our research activities on a small number of priority themes, and further internationalising the university. To support this development, the university is seeking to recruit outstanding academics, with a strong track record of research and teaching, to the following position:

Department of Law
Lecturer in Law

The Department of Law is one of the newest academic units within the University. The Department has 16 staff members and offers a number of popular degree programmes, educating over 700 students, at undergraduate, taught postgraduate, and PhD level. The Department places a very strong emphasis on research, and staff members regularly publish in leading international academic journals. In addition, our programmes highlight the practical application of legal study, and underline the importance of legal skills, such as negotiation and advocacy. The Department is student-focused and outward-facing; it collaborates widely with colleagues within the University and beyond. The Department of Law has undergone a period of rapid expansion of its range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It offers, amongst others, LLB and BCL (Law and Business) degrees at undergraduate level, and a suite of postgraduate programme, including the LLM programme in International Business Law. The Department is now seeking to recruit to a key academic post designed to contribute to these programmes.
