Boston University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Vice President of Auxiliary Services. The Assistant Vice President will provide innovative leadership for a diverse group of revenue-generating Auxiliary enterprises that directly support student life and the academic mission of the University. Ensuring exceptional customer service while optimizing revenue and operating margin contributions will be priorities for the Assistant Vice President.
Auxiliary Service units reporting to the Assistant Vice President include Undergraduate Student Housing, Residential and Retail Dining Services, Terrier ID Card, Vending and Collegiate Licensing. Combined these departments employ over 850 full- and part-time employees with annual revenue that exceeds $200 million. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: a broad and sophisticated knowledge of a variety of auxiliary business models; a successful track record of managing complex capital planning, budget and financial systems; extensive knowledge of campus dining and undergraduate housing programs; the ability to establish and maintain excellent collaborative relationships; strong project management capabilities; and exceptional analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
A Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field and 10 years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 12 years of relevant experience is required. A record of increasing responsibilities that includes directly managing large, multifaceted auxiliary enterprises with successful outcomes is also required. This person will report directly to the Vice President, Auxiliary Services.
