At the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the SFB 912 – HAEC (Highly Adaptive Energy Efficient Computing) offers as soon as possible the following position for a
Research Fellow / Postdoc Position
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated
according to salary group up to E 13 TV-L)
The contract is limited to June 30th 2019. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis).
Tasks: The research will be directed towards the study of channel coding for energy efficient ultra high-speed wireless board-to-board computer communication to enable reliable communication with very small latency. Special focus will be on the study of decoding architectures for LDPC convolutional codes including their hardware implementation.
The researcher will get the opportunity to gain valuable project experience, to work with excellent scientists in an international team on a versatile range of tasks and connect to academia as well as to industry partners. Your research tasks will include the investigation of different architectures for windowed decoding of LDPC convolutional codes and their hardware implementation. To enable small latency, parallelization and scheduling of decoding iterations should be studied. In addition, participation in HAEC researcher meetings and exchange with other HAEC subprojects is expected. The results shall be published at international conferences and distinguished journals.
Requirements: We are looking for a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher and expect: university degree and PhD (or close to completion) in electrical engineering, information technology or related fields, such as physics or mathematics; an excellent background and a proven capacity for high-quality research in the area of channel coding and hardware implementation of digital baseband algorithms, e.g., decoders; excellent analytical skills to solve complex tasks in the field of wireless communications.
Moreover, we expect the following: An independent, target- and solution-driven work attitude; inter- and multidisciplinary thinking; an integrative and cooperative personality with excellent communication and social skills; fluency in English - written and oral. Basic knowledge of German language is beneficial.
