Program Evaluation Manager

The Program Evaluation Manager is primarily responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance of BU's Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) that is comprised of the Charles River (BU CRC) and Medical (BUMC) campuses, Boston Medical Center (BMC) with its 15 Boston HealthNet Community Health Centers (CHCs), and Roger Williams Medical Center (RWMC) in Providence, Rhode Island. These four participating institutions comprise the CTSI that advances an integrated setting for translational research for the local scientific community and national 61 institution network. The institute partners are the Boston VA Healthcare System and Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital. It is the second largest NIH-funded institute at BU, thus considered a "signature" institute. The Program Evaluation Manager must implement and manage a complex evaluation plan for assessing the impact of innovative methods for drug and device discovery, creative tools to expedite and retool traditional research processes (particularly in service to our ethnic populations), institutional strategies on strengthening clinical and translational team science culture and processes to optimize strategic academic-industry partnerships and advance applications that translate into drugs, devices and diagnostics. Expertise is required in research evaluation methodologies and models, cost-benefit analyses, project management, staff/stakeholder management, and accurate tailoring of report dissemination for diverse audiences that facilitate effective utilization-focused evaluation approaches. The position reports to the Assistant Provost for Institutional Research and Evaluation in the Office of the Provost on the Boston University Medical Campus who reports to the BUMC Provost. This position oversees staff Evaluation Data Clerks and Analysts.
This position is grant funded.
3-5 years of experience and Master's degree required.
Individual must provide evidence of a body of field work in program or policy evaluation that includes implementation of rigorous evaluation studies across diverse stakeholder groups in the context of research evaluation and Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS). Individual must also provide evidence of strong project management of multiple evaluation projects involving multiple organizations within each project.
