The University of Bristol invites applications for an immediate position in the area of machine learning on spatio-temporal sensor data for health applications.
This role is for the research and development of advanced machine learning and sensor fusion techniques for activity recognition and other health applications from real-time data collected from environmental and wearable sensors.
Based in the Merchant Venturers’ School of Engineering at the University of Bristol, you will be working with the SPHERE Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration team (http://www.irc-sphere.ac.uk/), which is developing a sensor platform for the home to diagnose and help manage health and wellbeing conditions. You will also be a member of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory (http://intelligentsystems.bristol.ac.uk/), a large and vibrant research group specialising in machine learning, data science and autonomous systems.
You will hold (or will be expected to obtain soon) a strong PhD in machine learning or related areas. In addition to a strong research track record you will also have excellent communication and presentation skills, and the enthusiasm to develop new and imaginative solutions for digital healthcare.
This post is being offered on a full time, open-ended contract with funding available up to 30th September 2018.
It is expected that interviews will be held on or around 8th May 2017.
