Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Act as mentor to the CAA staff.
2. Provide guidance in theongoingassessmentprogram,withspecialemphasis on the end-of-cycleoccurring inJanuary 2016.
3. Provide direction fortheimplementationofadvisingprogramsspecifically targeting First YearandAt-riskstudents.
4. Assist with the continuousimprovementoftheacademicadvisingmodel  to best serve QU’sfuture needs.
5. Assist with visioning and strategic planning activities.
6. Assess and improve the collaboration betweentheCAAandkeycampuspartners.
7. Create, coordinate andconducton-goingprofessionaldevelopmentforCAA staff.
8. Facilitate the involvementofstaffinAcademicAdvisingorganizations in Qatar and abroad.
9. Assist with Student Affairs activities.
10. Other duties  as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience

1. Doctoral degree is required. 
2. A proven leader with a minimum of five years’ of leadership-level experience in Academic Advising in higher education.
3. Significant additional experience in higher education, knowledge of key issues and trends in student services, and knowledge and experience with CAS standards, accreditation requirements and processes for assessing Academic Advising.
4. Demonstrated  ability to identify and resolve issues of importance in academic advising on college campuses.
5. A collaborative leadership style, and skill and experience in establishing and maintaining  effective working relationships with staff in the CAA, students, faculty members, other QU staff and the community are essential.
6. Professional experience working in a multicultural environment.
7. Active member of NACADA or relevant academic advising association.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of Banner software is preferred.
