The University of Chichester is recruiting Conference and Accommodation Assistants to support our summer business operation when our Halls of Residences and University buildings transform into a commercial hotel and conference facility.
We are looking for people who have previous experience within a reception/client facing role and can deliver great customer service during our extended summer opening hours. Individuals must be reliable and confident in dealing with a wide range of enquiries from staff, students, contractors, summer B&B and summer school guests.
The successful candidates will be responsible for welcoming, checking in and checking out of guests, taking new bookings, handling finances, ensuring the completion of all associated administration, and using and updating the specialist database booking system.
The department is extremely busy over the summer period, so the ideal candidates must be effective communicators who can work on their own using their own initiative to deliver great customer service. With proven IT and literacy skills candidates must be able to work in a proactive, calm and flexible approach.
* Closing date: Monday 24th April 2017
* Interview Date: Wednesday 3rd or Thursday 4th May 2017
* Start date: Tuesday 30th May 2017
* Mandatory Training week 1: Tuesday 30th May - Friday 2nd June 9am-4pm
* Mandatory Training week 2: Monday 5th - Friday 9th June (4 out of 5 days) 10am-5pm

The Summer Shift pattern will then commence from Saturday 10th June until mid Sept.
It is anticipated members will be working on average 3 shifts per week according to current demands.
Please note on the application form any days/dates/times you are unable to work and the preferred number of hours you wish to work.
Whilst the department is open 7.30am-10pm 7 days a week the majority of shifts will be 2pm-10pm Monday - Sunday and weekends. However there will be some daytime/morning shifts to cover office holiday/sickness and peak days/major events and so candidates will need good availability/flexibility.
