Salary: $111,812 - $116,332 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
The Faculty of Business and Economics is seeking to appoint an experienced research manager to this key leadership role. Reporting to the Faculty Executive Director and working closely with the Associate Dean (Research) and senior academic leaders, the appointee will provide input into the Faculty's Research and Industry strategic and operational plans. In addition they will initiate, develop and support the implementation of strategies to enhance research and research training within the Faculty, including providing support for cross-faculty and multi-disciplinary funding proposals.
The Manager, Research and Industry will advise on broader issues of research in the business, government and higher education sectors and brief the Executive Director and senior academic leaders on all matters relevant to the portfolio. They will develop and maintain effective working relationships with University Services to ensure high quality and timely service delivery in the areas of research, industry and commercialisation. Finally, the position is responsible for a team of four and is a member of the Faculty Operational Management Team (OMT) and University Research Managers group.
Appropriate individuals may currently be operating in research management roles in other Universities or research institutions. While they will not necessarily have exposure to business, commerce or economics disciplines, it is essential that they have demonstrated people management experience. This is an exciting role and will play a key part in the development of further research excellence within this leading faculty.
