The School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA) seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate to a full time, fixed term (12 month) Teaching Fellowship in the Politics of the European Union. The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, teaching on established modules that address: the development and operation of the core institutions of the EU; the domestic political systems, economies and welfare states of the member states; the role of the EU in the wider world; contemporary debates within and about the EU (including relevant conceptual and theoretical issues); and, the relationship between the EU and some of its leading member states and key non-members such as the United States. The successful applicant will contribute to the School’s teaching on the EU in various settings, including supervising undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. They will have responsibilities as module convenor on one undergraduate module (The Political Economy of the European Union) and one postgraduate module (European Institutions and the Policy Process).
