The University of Bristol Theatre Collection is an accredited museum and world-class collection relating to professional British theatre history. It is also home to the internationally recognised Live Art Archives which includes the archives of Franko B, National Review of Live Art, Record of Live Art Practice and others ( . The Theatre Collection actively engages with students, academics and creative practitioners, and is a catalyst for new scholarly and creative work, projects and partnerships.

The University of Bristol is looking to appoint a Keeper: Digital and Live Art Archives. The post holder will be responsible for the curation and development of the Live Art Archives at the Theatre Collection, including collections care (to appropriate standards), support of academic activity based on the archives both within and beyond the University, supporting innovative creative use of the archives, and strategic development and advocacy within the Higher Education and cultural/arts sectors. The post holder will lead on project-based work based on the Live Art Archives, including funding applications and project management. They will also be responsible for digital content (born digital and digitised) across the Theatre Collection’s holdings, as well as AV and time-based media, and will be the professional lead for digital preservation and digital asset management in the Theatre Collection. The post holder will assist in raising the profile of the Theatre Collection and its collections within and outside the University through advocacy, events and other onsite and online services. They will work closely with the Theatre Collection staff team and play a key internal, external and public facing role to support the Theatre Collection’s strategic development.
