The Role

We are seeking a Software developer to contribute to a NHMRC-funded project under the supervision of Dr Blanca-Gallego Luxan. You will be working in a diverse team which uses electronic health records and the data they contain to predict and product better patient outcomes while reducing costs.

Selection Criteria for Software developer

To be considered for this position, applicants must provide a cover letter of 1- 2 pages addressing the selection criteria below along with their resume as part of the application process.


  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.Hands on experience in R and Python, knowledge of C++ and Java, and comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in computational statistics.
  • Experience in web development in one or more languages with exposure to both front-end and back-end development.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

The position would suit an applicant who has experience working with large and complex datasets (preferably health datasets), can program in a variety of languages and frameworks and is familiar with software engineering best practices.

Salary Package:  From $77,894 to $85,982 p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading. 

Appointment Type: Full time, 2 years fixed term position.
