At the Biotechnology Centre, an interdisciplinary institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB), the Chair of Bioinformatics is looking for a

Research and Teaching Fellow / Postdoc Position
working on bioinformatics for computational drug development
(Subject to personal qualification, employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

The position entails 50% of the fulltime weekly hours and is available from July 1st, 2017 and is limited to December 31st, 2021. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis).

Tasks: independent planning, development, and programming of analysis pipelines for drug, protein and sequence data using a medium and large (several thousand CPUs) compute cluster; organisation of teaching including preparation of tutorials, labs, and lectures as well as supervision of students; writing of grants and publications; scientific administration.

Requirements: university masterĀ“s degree in bioinformatics or a related field and PhD in bioinformatics; knowledge in some of the following areas: deep sequencing, drug databases, structural bioinformatics, programming in python and Java, datamining and machine learning.
