Assistant / Associate Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor in any area of Psychology, but with a specific interest in Industrial/Organizational psychology. The department offers programmes at the BSS, MSS and PhD levels. We are a group of active researchers and devoted teachers representing diverse cultural backgrounds. English is the medium of instruction and an official language of the university. The successful candidate should have received his/her PhD in Psychology in any area of specialisation by the start date of the appointment, and:

  • Demonstrated record of scholarship in any areas of psychology as evidenced by publications in reputable and relevant academic journals and other print outlets.
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellence and/or interest in teaching supported by teaching evaluations, letters of reference, and teaching dossier or statements of teaching philosophy, if any.
  • Willingness and commitment to keep an active research program and to contribute to the education of undergraduate as well as graduate students in the programmes offered by the department.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2017.

Position and Remuneration

Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification, current position and professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
