The Department of English is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in World Literatures in English, specialising in literatures of the 20th/21st centuries focused primarily on areas outside Europe and North America. Desirable specialisms include, but are not restricted to, South Asian and/or Caribbean literatures in English. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, an outstanding research profile, and demonstrated experience as a university teacher and academic colleague. There will be opportunities to participate in a number of Faculty-wide research clusters and other research networks. Current clusters relevant to this post include Transnational Modernisms, Global Feminisms, and Black Arts and Humanities.

Timescale of appointment:
Long-listed candidates will be notified on or about 5th May 2017. They will be required to submit a sample of their work (in English, not more than 10,000 words) as soon as possible after notification, but no later than Wednesday, 10 May.
Short-listed candidates will be notified on or about Friday 19th May 2017 and invited to interview.
