The College of Science, Engineering and Health is seeking experienced, energetic people for a range of positions in its Academic Development Group to help drive quality and innovation in tertiary STEMM education. In particular we are looking for academic developers and instructional designers with expertise in supporting blended and online education, particularly with experience in supporting disciplines relevant to the College of Science, Engineering and Health. We are also seeking a senior manager of the Learning Enhancement team who can contribute to shaping effective contemporary pedagogical approaches and their implementation through a large and diverse College.

The College is also seeking a senior advisor for scholarship of teaching and learning to support expansion in scholarly practices, educational research, and recognition of teaching excellence.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Senior Manager Learning Enhancement is responsible for the identification and provision of targeted program redesign and redevelopment projects and professional development programs aligned to business needs in support of the learning and teaching goals of the College. The Senior Manager oversees development of academics and teachers in SEH through the translation of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and provision of professional development opportunities; and through targeted Learning Design projects supporting redesign of programs and courses to enhance the learning experience for students.

The Senior Manager Learning Enhancement leads a team responsible for services to support enhancement of the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of learning and teaching outcomes and enhancement of the processes involved.

The Senior Manager Learning Enhancement is responsible for providing leadership in learning and teaching in relation to the development of an education environment that aligns entirely with RMIT's strategy. The incumbent will engage with University, RMIT's Learning and Teaching Academy, RMIT Studios, and policies, priorities and strategic initiatives to improve student learning outcomes in College of Science Engineering and Health programs and courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have substantial acknowledged expertise in sound and innovative pedagogical thinking and development. You will be able to demonstrate ability to develop and implement flexible learning approaches and use of digital technologies to shape new learning experiences. You will be able to demonstrate ability to lead a team, develop effective networks with educational leaders, and leadership ability in communicating the current and future state of higher and vocational education including policy and reforms and how these should shape educational practices. Furthermore, your ability to draw upon new and emerging technologies and practice for the effective application of innovative use of tools and learning and assessment pedagogies will be essential to your success in this role.
