The college of Science, Engineering and Health comprises four Schools delivering a broad range of programs in science, engineering, health and technology at apprenticeship, certificate, bachelor, masters and PhD levels.

The role and your responsibilities

The Academic Developer is responsible for providing leadership in learning and teaching in relation to the development of an education environment that aligns entirely with RMIT's strategy. The Academic Developer will support learning and teaching improvements across the College through strategic initiatives, program and course redesign and the provision of flexible professional development in support of improving learning and teaching performance across the College. The Academic Developer will need to collaborate effectively with diverse groups and have a focus on outcomes. The successful candidate will engage with College and University priorities and strategic initiatives to improve student learning outcomes in programs and courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will bring to the role significant and varied expertise in the development and delivery, including teaching and evaluation, of curriculum that engages diverse cohorts of learners within the tertiary education context. Understanding of contemporary theories and practices of learning and teaching in tertiary education, with a particular emphasis on the use of digital learning and educational technology to support student learning, will be critical to success in this role. Furthermore, key to this role will be experience and capacity to manage multiple concurrent learning and teaching projects, particularly where some of these are large and complex.
