The role and your responsibilities
The Learning Designer will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of RMIT's Learning and Teaching Framework. The Learning Designer will work individually, as well as within a team environment, collaborating with teaching and program staff to develop sustainable, accessible and high quality blended learning materials appropriate for a range of disciplines, incorporating evidence-based educational design principles that are consistent with RMIT's policies. The role will increase the capability of teaching staff in the appropriate use of technologies and support the transition towards enhancing teaching and curriculum design practices, and increase the uptake of appropriate technology enhanced teaching practice to improve the student learning experience.
Skills and experience required
The ideal candidate will bring to the role expertise in blended and online learning and teaching practice. Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders to enable evidence-based outcomes in blended and online learning design will be critical to your success in this role. Furthermore, key to this role will be extensive experience in design, delivery and evaluation of professional development workshops, webinars, and modules for the development of tertiary pedagogies in the area of active, flexible blended and online learning. You should be able to demonstrate experience in managing learning design projects and driving best practice developments.
