NORWICH UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS

COURSE LEADER: ARCHITECTURE

£39,324 to £46,924 per annum plus Course Leader Allowance

Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) offers students the opportunity to study architecture within the context of an arts based University and an environment of studio practice.  Architecture at NUA is housed in a recently restored, award-winning grade 2 listed building. Creativity, technical and making skills are integrated into design projects to enable students to learn the discipline of architecture holistically. The Course was introduced in 2012 in response to industry demand for high quality architectural education in the region and was awarded Architects Registration Board (ARB) Part 1 Prescription status in 2015.

The University is seeking to appoint a dynamic Course Leader with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary industry practice and significant experience of teaching Architecture at undergraduate level. The successful applicant will support the continuing development of architectural education at NUA through strong team leadership, course organisation and management, and curriculum enhancement. The person appointed will have experience of leadership within Higher Education and evidence of having worked effectively with relevant professional bodies.

The Course Leader will work collaboratively and under the direction of the Dean of Faculty of Design and Architecture in continuing to develop a distinctive and contemporary curriculum that meets the expectations of professional bodies and industry practitioners.

You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to contemporary pedagogical approaches and an ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be student-focused and committed to providing excellence in architectural education.

Closing date:  Monday 24th April 2017
Interviews will be held on: Monday 15th May 2017
