Job Overview

The Bristol BioEnergy Centre is seeking to appoint a Research Associate on a fixed term basis as part of the Scion, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded project, with the aim to develop microbial fuel cells (MFCs) into a mature sustainable energy technology.

The post holder would be responsible for investigating how Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) technology can help clean Scion's effluent, cold oxidation organically enriched liqueur, for disposal. This is the first time that MFCs shall be used for cold oxidation liqueur.

You will:

  • Have a Masters level qualification and have registered for, or are willing to register for a PhD;
  • Be able to demonstrate how to conduct research using appropriate research techniques and implement new research methods;
  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline;
  • Be skilled in effectively analysing and interpreting research outcomes to generate outcomes.
